Rotterdam is Holland America Line’s newest ship. However, it is actually the 7th cruise ship for the brand to bear this historic name. This 100K gross ton ship is the third vessel in the line’s innovative Pinnacle Class.
In this Holland America Rotterdam ship tour, we start at the top and work our way down exploring this vessel deck by deck, showcasing every square inch of the ship.

—-HOLLAND AMERICA ROTTERDAM SHIP TOUR: LIDO DECK—–
There are two main pool areas on Holland America’s Rotterdam cruise ship.
The Lido Pool is open to all cruisers and is not far from popular amenities, like the Dive-In burger shop, the gelato station, and the Lido Bar. With a retractable roof, it is always a pool day at this midship space regardless of the outside weather.
Aft on deck 9, you will find the Sea View Pool and Bar. Of the two pools on Holland America’s Rotterdam, we prefer the Sea View pool. This pool is adults only and is a completely open-air space.
—–HOLLAND AMERICA ROTTERDAM: DINING—–
When it comes to dining, Rotterdam offers a variety of both complimentary and specialty dining options.
Casual spots include the New York Deli & Pizza with sandwiches, pizza, and salads. Dive In is a poolside grill serving up made-to-order burgers, Nathan’s hot dogs, and fries.
Located between the two pools on Deck 9 is the Lido Market. This well-designed eatery is among the best buffets at sea.
There is also the Grand Dutch Café which serves the brand’s signature Rotterdam 1873 coffee blend, along with Dutch favorites like pea soup, pancakes, and apple pie.
The Dining Room is Holland America’s complimentary main dining room. The MDR offers a multi-course menu that changes nightly. Regardless of whether you opt for traditional dining or Dine Anytime, the dinner menus are the same.
Holland America’s Rotterdam also features a number of specialty restaurants. Tamarind’s menu includes Far East dishes inspired by the culinary traditions of Southeast Asia, China, and Japan. Within this larger restaurant is Nami Sushi. Canaletto serves up all the Italian classics in a casual setting.
Pinnacle Grill is the specialty steakhouse. This menu features signature cuts of beef and innovative recipes from Chef David Burke. Finally, Rudi’s Sel de Mer is an intimate seafood restaurant featuring classic French and seafood dishes created by Chef Rudi Sodamin.
—-HOLLAND AMERICA ROTTERDAM: ENTERTAINMENT SPACES—–
The World Stage is Holland America Line’s main theater. This two-story venue features a 270-degree wraparound LED screen. The main theater features production shows by the StepONE dance company, EXC enrichment talks like the Origin Story, and BBC Earth in Concert.
Rotterdam has four different music venues on the Deck 2 Music Walk. There is Billboard Onboard with live piano music in the evenings. Across the way is the new Rolling Stone Rock Room, our favorite nighttime spot. This venue features a live band playing all your favorite rock hits every evening.
Continuing aft on deck 2, there is yet another stop on the Music Walk, the B.B. King’s Blues Club. This venue brings the best of Memphis to the high seas. This venue also doubles as the Lincoln Center Stage boasting a phenomenal orchestra quartet.
Of course, Rotterdam also has a number of bars and lounges with specialty cocktail menus. New to the HAL bar lineup is the intimate Half Moon Bar featuring exclusive cocktails paying tribute to the cruise line’s history.
